has anyone found a good way to scan in 4x6 photos?

So I am curious, has anyone found a good way to scan in 4x6 photos? I am looking for a good scanner to use and am not having much luck. Single flat bed type scanning would suck to do the 100s of photos I have and all the methods I have tried involve lots of manual cropping and such for each photo!

In my searching for the same reason, I didn't find anything that fit my needs. It seems like most scanners are either cheap and slow, or fast and expensive, with very little in the mid range.

Depending on how many photos you need to scan, it might be more economical (and a lot easier) to have a service like Fotobridge do it for you.

In my case I just ended up using the flat bed scanner in my Canon Pixma MX922 AIO printer and did a few at a time when I was in the mood. One nice thing about the Pixma scanning software is that it detects separate photos if there is physical space between them and automatically crops them into separate files, so I can do three 3x5 or two 4x6 photos at a time. It's still slow, but it's free and easier than manually cropping everything.

This is what I was looking for so figured I post here I have maybe 10 stacks of of pictures and would now like to expose all my negatives to see whats on them.


I did the first ones combing a bunch of photos on 1 letter sized scan.

I want to be able to do stacks of pictures at a time to minimize the work involved and get them scanned fast as I can so I can post them on Facebook for my family and friends.

I having problems these days with severe neck and back problems so whats my best way to get all of my pictures scanned?
