Has anyone exchanged their P67 board for a replacement at Microcenter yet?

I received an email survey from them a few weeks ago regarding the P67 exchange situation, but haven't heard back since.

Has anyone actually contacted them about an exchange? If so, what was the response?

Hey man,

I was down there the other day looking to switch my UD4 to an ASUS P8P67 Pro. They were fine with that, but they did not have stock of the ASUS board at the time. The manager was even willing to take back my i5 2500k if I would take store credit and pick up a 2600k (natch, this makes them more money;YMMV on this deal, however, and I could not get the "combo" price with the ASUS board and the 2600k). But overall, it was a fine experience.

They did not tell me of any "deadlines" to effect this exchange, but I imagine they have one in mind.

What does MC expect when returning a P67 board? The board and the receipt? Or do they need all of the stuff that came with it, such as the manual, cables, ect . .

I'm not certain. I'm a stickler for keeping materials perfect and I never opened a single thing in the box beyond the static bag for the board. No one said anything either way. I will ask when I go back this week.

Nahh, just give em the empty box back and keep the mobo too. :\

I'm sure if you asked them for the official answer, it would be to return everything. The practical reality may be that they won't notice if you fail to return one of the 5 sata cables or something.

Indeed, and that was their answer. Board/instructions/accessories. If you're missing a SATA cable I doubt it's the end of the world. TBH, most microcenter guys don't know s**t, so it wouldn't shock me if they take all kinds of returns. The guy I was dealing with didn't even know about the recall until he asked another associate.

Picked up a 2600k today though and paid the $100 difference. So worth it!

I'm not sure when MC is going to carry my replacement board (P8P67M-Pro), not even listed on their site currently. I could go through Asus, but I'm hoping that the Z68 boards might be out by the time MC actually gets around to stocking my board and then I'll upgrade to one of those.

I doubt it will take MC that long. I assume the container ships are full of mobos on their way over to the US, so its just a matter of weeks (or days) until the stock starts filling in.

I also wish that I could get an overlap here where I can return my P67 only after seeing the new Z68 prices to determine if I want to upgrade, but I doubt I can get Newegg to hold out till June when the Z68s are in stock and still let me return my P67. I'm assuming I'll be getting that email from Newegg any day now "so we have your ASRock in stock - ready to exchange?" Their offer was only to extend the return period UP TO 90 days from purchase and that doesnt get me to June.....:'(
