Has anyone ever seen a Veggie Tales movie?

I saw my first one last night. They are actually very good (I'm 26 by the way🙂 ). The tell some good stories, but they have a lot of adult jokes in them too. For example:

1.They are telling the story of Joseph and as they list the brothers they come to one named Jude and all the other brothers yell...."Hey Jude"

2.When Joseph is being sold to some desperados (it was a western setting), Joseph says...."Desperados....you better come to your senses".

Good stuff 😉

Anyone with small kids NEEDS these videos. We have almost all of them and it's so funny - MY friends come over and ask to watch them!!! (they belong to my 3 yr old daughter 😛 )

You're right about the humor...they reference a lot of adult stuff and i love them for it. i've spent so many hours watching them with my daughter that i would've hated them by now if not for that (the way i do Teletubbies which have absolutely NO purpose, IMHO :disgust: ).

Plus, the animation isn't bad...

My daughter loves it. I generally dislike bible story shows, but Veggie Tales is tolerable.

Don't let your daughter go believing that crap.

Take your religion bashing out of here plz, we have enough of that in other threads. This thread is about the childlike joy you get from watching an innocent cartoon. Bu-Bye.

edit: yah....2222 posts. Or as Sir Mix would say "duece, duece, duece....." 😉

I plan to let my daughter make her own choices. If that's religion then I'll support her. If not, I'll support her.

I think that's more healthy and open minded than the force feeding of values that religious zealots and anti-religious zealots both do. If you think you're any better than a door-to-door religious salesman, think again. You don't want people to think for themselves, you'd rather have them believe in your religion of science without question.

"How dare you question me, I have science on my side!"

I'm agnostic, but I enjoy the Veggie Tales movies. They're funny, the silly songs with Larry are great and catchy, and the animation is very good. And if my kids want to believe in God, then that's their perogative, but even so the messages are usually very good and are things you would normally teach your child anyway - like sharing, being honest, and others.

This is a song
For your poor sick penguin
He's got a fever
And his toes are blue

I admit it, my daughter and I both love VeggieTales. God help me, I think I can sing every Silly Song too!

With any luck, I'll go through life without ever having seen one. Cultural/religious indoctrination thinly yet cleverly disguised as entertainment.

We play the cds at work during the summer. (I work at a kids park) Some of the songs are really funny. The Cheeseburger song is the best.
