Has anyone ever hit anything with their car? What did it feel like?

I can barely drive it in heavy rain. (Being rwd doesn't help.)
Car is 100% useless in the snow, especially since I have summer tires. 😛

So, you have basically said you are a shitty driver. I can drive my RWD just fine in the rains...and I have 285's on the back....and I have torque. 😛

On topic. I hit a guy on a bike like 2 weeks ago. Not my fault though.

I nearly hit a guy on a bike a few days ago. I was going about 30-40mph through a green light and this guy flew through the intersection on a bike(he was going downhill).

I have an irrational fear lately, for some reason, that when I hit a bump, etc. I fear I may have hit a dog, cat, animal, person, etc. Especially when driving in the city.

It's probably because I don't own a car anymore, so I rarely drive... maybe once a month now. So I'm not as experienced and I'm not used to seeing "all around the car" as much as I used to be.

On days like today where tourists are out in abundance, I'm almost constantly slamming on brakes, etc. to avoid hitting people crossing the road illegally.

So to put my mind at ease, has anyone here ever hit something, like a deer, small animal, etc.? If so, is it something you'd definitely notice if your tires hit it?
OMFG, were you driving through Taunton, MA the other night?

I broadsided a deer on my way to work one morning. i'm sure i've run over a squirrel and a rabbit at least once.

This is basically what happened to me. He came out of the forest bike path and crossed the road at a good speed without looking or slowing down. Thankfully my license plate cover took 99% of the hit. I did call him a fucking idiot too as he was picking himself up from the road.

Hi MOsh!!!

We are due for one of our many (and by many I mean one time many years ago) into the night PM'ing sessions.

It was many years ago and nothing that couldn't be spoken in public....just spent the evening talking. I don't remember what brought it on.

i hit 3 cars and blew through the intersection once, but that didnt hurt at all

i was young and inexperienced at the time, turns out i had a lot to learn

lol. Don't take comments too literally. 😉
And hey, the RX-8 has plenty of torque, if you compare it with a bicycle. lol

I plunged into a set of bollards too narrow for the car once.

I will not be doing that again.

I've yet to hit anything of size, but I imagine it to be akin to that pleasurable feeling of eating a cool, delicious grape: the soft yield of the skin as you bite into it giving way to an explosion of goodness.

Actually, the only animal I've known about hitting was a very small bird. I did not realize I hit it until I was home and it was stuck in the grill of the car, the poor thing. :'(

I hit another car. And a fence.

It was a harder impact than I thought it would be. Metallic crunch, tinkle of glass, etc. My car just went through the other guy's like it was paper. But yeah. Deer are pretty big relative to birds and the like, if you hit one you'll know about it.
