It would take too long to go into the whole story, but several interested parties (the hospital, several specialists involved) want to sue the original doctor who misdiagnosed and neglected to preform necessary tests, then lied and tried to fake records, and so on.
The question isn't about the politics or otherwise of suing, it is: has anyone ever been through the experience? What's it like? The patient is a kid who now can't walk, is it awful for them to have to slog through the legal system?
