Has anyone else's PC been FUBAR'd by this RPC worm?

Nope! My PC was updated recently, just before this mess broke out (I hit windowsupdate every week or so), and, of course, there's my iMac...

not a prob here..religious patcher...

did you go to symantec's site and follow the instructions/use the removal tool? Should be able to boot into safe mode and take care of it...

No update. No siftware firewall...I do have a webramp 700s blocking all incoming though. No Problem.

I am reinstalling XP for other reasons, with a software firewall this time, but still yet to be infected.

Just about every computer i've seen has gotten it, but i've been able to remove it and patch them all. It can be a real PITA

donno...i just did the windows update...it got rid of it....

I ran norton's app and MS patches and updates for XP which removed the infected files and fixed the entry points.

What is this about corrupted ntfs.sys files? How can I find out if I have them?

What exactly does this thing so, and how does it do it....?

My SPI Firewall never lets anything through so i'd like to hear about what I'm missing. I haven't even bothered reading stories about it either😛
