AWESOME MOVIE!!! easily one of the most dramatic movies I've seen in awhile, with some awesome broad sweeping scenes and just great cinematography.

lately, I've been going back to the classics since I bought quite a few for significant discounts at the local EB :)

other movies i'll be seeing this week:
My Fair Lady (the old AH one)
Citizen Kane
Moulin Rouge
Pulp Fiction.

Plan to buy that when my Columbia House membership goes through. Haven't seen it, but I understand it's very good. :)

great movie, he totally gets swept up with his new power, just like bush! :p

If you're going back to old classics you might checkout marlin brando's 'streetcar named desire' or 'on the waterfront', two of my alltime favorites. he was awesome back then.

Lawrence of Arabia is one of the greatest movies of all time. I love it! :)

It's so great that you don't even know that there's not much action in it. It's just a fantastic movie. Definitely one of my top 10 favorite movies. I can't believe that it's relatively old, too!

I watched a lot of classic movies both this last summer and the summer before, including Lawrence of Arabia (my mom eventually bought the DVD). This past summer I watched a lot of Hitchcock films, and they were all pretty damn good (a lot on the top 100 list at AFI and the top 250 list at IMDB).

I love it... it has aged very well :) I highly recommend it to people, even if they don't like "old" movies.

I saw Lawrence of Arabia at a drive in. On a large screen it is amazing. TV does not do it justice.

I'm pretty sure AFI had Lawrence of Arabia as number one on their greatest movie list. last i saw that was like 3 years ago though. I think Casablanca was second... i don't know, seems right though. both excellent

There's at least 3 versions on DVD. The regular DVD in a normal DVD case - saw that one marked $14.95 at Circuit City yesterday. The Limited Edition version with two discs in a cloth-bound case - $22 at Circuit City yesterday. And the Superbit version (just came out this month sometime), which is supposedly the only one with a decent transfer from the original film. That one's $20 on Circuit City's website, not available for store pick-up and wasn't available at my Circuit City yeseterday. It's $22 at Columbia House, so I'm using it as one of my fulfillment selections.

It came to the Tivoli theater in Saint Louis all remastered and stuff. (the tivoli is the major 'art house' theater in town, and they have this gorgous old style theater, complete with curtain, awesome domes in the ceiling, intricate woodcarvings and statues around the top, awesome lighting, HUGE screen (like I said, covered by a curtain that raises up)

they have two other less impressive screens, but seeing Lawrence of Arabia (first time for me) in that awesome theater is not an experience I will easily forget. LoA is easily one of the top 5 movies for beutiful cinamotography. The way the desert is shot is just beutiful. And . . well, if you get the chance, see it in a theater.
