Why do I say that? -- because the RIAA is an illegal collusive oligopoly and it's our duty as consumers to realize that and destroy them financially. Capitalism needs to remain capitalism. Oligopolies are not capitalism.
haha! You gotta love the kiddies who just passed ECON 101. They love using the new words they learned, oligopoly is just plain fun to say!
Sorta like someone who just completed PSYCH 101 and goes around trying to psycho-analyze everyone.
So are oil companies, why arn't you out stealin gas?
lol! Exactly.
There is no viable economic model that can compete with "for free". If people could drive off with a new car without paying for it, without risk of getting caught and being prosecuted, indeed the ONLY consequences they would face are those imposed by their own conscience, very few people would actually be paying for cars.
Even if the price of cars were reduced significantly, why pay one dollar for something you can get for free? The price would have nothing to do with the fact people en mass would be driving off with free cars and reducing the price wouldn't entice anyone to pay for the car who wasn't inclined to, anyway. Of course, those who are questioned or challenged about their practice of driving away with 'free' cars would resort to the exact same rationalization above (I'm fighting evil greedy oligopolies therefore its ok).
No viable economic model can possibly compete with 'free'.
