Oh really? I'm sure most people if they haven't seen a cooked Tofurky before, would be fooled if this was presented to them.I didn't say it was doing a good job.

Along with some Tofu?Favourite way to prepare seitan is to stir fry (sliced up) with ginger, scallions, soy sauce and rice wine.
Nope. By itself.Along with some Tofu?
Well the company that makes them sure does sell a lot of them. Now come on...does anyone really actually eat tofurkey? (No, the silly idiots who are vegans/vegetarians don't count...they're sub-human)

I find it funny that people take an issue with turkey being substituted by Tofurky or any other option. You do realize that the methods of roasting, stuffing, and preparing turkey wasn't invented for turkey, right?
Even for Thanksgiving turkey probably wasn't the original main dish, if there was one. Europeans used other birds, as turkeys were native to the Americas. The first time someone brought turkey some stuck up settler was like, "what the **** is this, Bill? Where's my pheasant?" (Okay, I'm using my imagination there, but you get the point).
You go back a few millennia, some cook for Babylonian royalty gets his hands on some chicken, decides it might taste good roasted like goat, and serves it instead of goat. The king is like, "what in the name of Ishtar is this ****, Bill?" (apparently Bill has been around a while).
My point is that food isn't some static thing you can declare can only be done a certain way. If you prefer something to something else, fine. That's your choice.
Personally I think that the anti-carbs things is just a fad and way overblown. Much like the anti-fat was back in the 80's and 90's.I've had it. Wife was vegetarian for a couple years back closer to college. One year for Thanksgiving we had tofurky, the next year we just had sides. Really wasn't for us. I worked at Whole Foods at the time so I tried many fake meats, tofurky was one of the best at the time, not sure if it has been surpassed by now.
Generally speaking, as a meat eater, I don't care for meat substitutes. For me they are pointless. Wife used to eat some of them but we mostly ate veggies, eggs, cheese and pasta. This was before carbs were found to be the devil.
