Has anyone bought from ZipZoomFly before?

So I'm planning on buying a laptop from either Newegg or this ZipZoomFly site. From Newegg, it's $1420 and ZipZoomFly it's $1360. So if I buy it from ZipZoomFly, I save $60. :)

I don't live in the states and a relative who lives in the states will be buying it for me. Since I've never heard of ZipZoomFly, I googled it and found a bunch of reviews. A couple of people were saying that if you ever have problems with the products or with ZipZoomFly, you're pretty much screwed because they won't help you at all. But the rest of the reviews seemed good...

If I can save $60, I'd like to. But I can always go with Newegg if necessary. Anyone buy stuff from ZipZoomFly recently?

ZZF is great.

Always had good service from them.

They used to be GoogleGear IIRC.

You know, they really need to crack down on people blatantly posting in wrong forums, thinking they'll get faster answers. Why do we bother with sub-forums? Why not just have 1 forum?

No issues either, but I have never had to return or RMA anything from them.

I buy from them as much as newegg. I always price check between the two. A lot of times ZZF will lower their price a buck or so below newegg, which is enough to get me to chose them. Or sometimes they'll have free shipping on an item that costs $6-8 to ship from newegg.

No problems at all, had to RMA a camera before the gave me no issues, and resolved the issue fast.

I ordered several things from them with no problem, the one time I did have a problem with bad RAM they did everything in their power to avoid being helpful in any way. I had to settle things with the manufacturer. I won't deal with them again. Judging by their plummeting standing on Reseller Ratings other people feel the same way. They were always a solid 8+, now they're barely above 5 and sinking like a stone.

I purchased some items from ZZF once or twice years ago and had no issues. Looking at their ResellerRatings however, and it looks like they may be going the way of the Monarch... :(

They used to be great, but in the past year or so, it appears that they've gone downhill pretty badly.

But hey, 60 bux is 60 bux, right? ;)

For me, the quality of Newegg's service USUALLY outweighs the slight savings at other places.

I don't see how this really fits into any other forum.

Yeah I wasn't sure where to put it. Maybe in Consumer Electronics? Sorry...

I've ordered from them several times and been just as happy as with NewEgg. They even cross-shipped a video card at no charge once when the original was bad out of the box. I haven't bought anything from them in a couple of years, but they were always great before.

Looking at ResellerRatings myself now and WOW. They have an all-time rating of 8.33 but a six-month rating of 5.58. So it's like I'm paying $60 for insurance now lol.

I've never had a problem with ZZF. I get better prices from them most of the time since most retailers have a warehouse in my state. (ie. state sales tax) ZZF doesn't and they have free shipping on a lot of items. Good online merchant. I've not had any problems with the merchandise, so I don't know how they are on returns.

Most retailers will avoid being any help with RAM problems. If you pay attention, even NewEgg listings for RAM say "Manufacturer Support Only" or something of that sort. What RAM doesn't have a manufacturers lifetime warranty anyways ?

I've bought a lot of stuff from them over several years with no major complaints other than the screwy rebates, but haven't recently. They became my first source for quite a while after NewEgg built a dist. in my state, but I tend to shop around more now.
