Has anyone been able to get the XBOX360 HD-DVD player

I'd like to hear from someone who has personallly been able to play hd-dvd movie contains by using the new xbox 360 hd-dvd player in his desktop with window xp or mce2005 O/S.
Because I'm thinking that I can now get the player (or transport) at CC for $149 and be able to use it in my HTPC w/o the need of buying a xbox 360 console.

What looks like it will take a HDCP g/c in order for the player to work. Mine is not a HDCP g/c ready, however. (7900gtx)
Wonder the new Nvidia 8800GTS or GTX is HDCP compliant? Does any one know?
