My grades were borderline for being accepted but it turns out I got in. I visited there last week for campus day and now have to make a decision between University of Florida or University of Michigan. Cost is not an issue. If anyone went there/still does I was hoping they could give me their opinion on the UMICH experience as a whole. Thanks!

1) business probably but I'm undecided

2) Sorta, but I think I'll be able to handle it and I don't want it to play a major role in my decision

3)Yes

Can you tell me anything about the general attitudes of the students? I've heard there are alot of flakey, rich kids but of course that is just a generalization.

Which campus of UM? Ann Arbor has a good reputation as a state school in the Northeast.

I am assuming he means Ann Arbor, I have never heard of any other campus called U of M.

Yea, Ann Arbor. I only called it UMICH because down here, most people think of UM as University of Miami and it can get confusing. I guess that doesn't really apply here.

Business is a solid choice, weve got one of the best B-Schools in the country (I find out if i get in this thursday :)) if not......welll off to the bar and declare econ major....anyways its a great party school, not a buncha nerds at all, you really do get used to the weather, its not that bad....as for the attitudes of the students, yes there are a good amount of the rich spoiled kids, but I think that most people here are genuinely nice people, not snotty or anything like that.

ask at a better time and you'll probably find 5-10 more people that either attend or have attended UofM.

Partying on campus is great, although the bar/club scene is lacking. If you'll have a car, you can always hit up Ypsi...slum with the poor folk ;) :D

As far as Bschool stuff goes,
make sure you have the grades for it. It's pretty damn selective...so getting by with a 3.0 won't cut it...

At campus day they told me that they are changing the way business majors work and you will now apply after your freshmen year. So does that mean basically I need to bust my ass for the first year and I'll be OK? I don't plan on getting a 3.0 but you never know...college might take me by surprise and be incredibly difficult.

It was fun, huge 400+ student frosh lectures sucked but whatjagonnado. North Campus is pretty, but if you're social it might be best to avoid living there.
