Has anyone actually seen a Kindle Fire perform well?

I don't see many admittedly in my line of work but all the ones I've seen perform slugglishly.

My Fire HD 10 (non-plus) 2021 model tablet seems to work fine but I'm a light user. I use the fire toolbox to add the play store, change the launcher and other minor changes. Unfortunately I recently updated the tablet and the updates screwed up being able to use a custom launcher. Hopefully they will figure it out. You can also do more advanced tweaks like uninstall preinstalled apps, etc.

Only when flung from a great height. They have a too slow SOC & are more stingy with RAM than Apple was in early iPhones, even web browsing on it was a chore let alone using it for Prime Video etc.

Best avoided if you value your time or sanity.

Well, they are dirt cheap. I bought one a couple of years ago on primeday and turned it on like twice. It was an impulse buy that I did even though I had a samsung tab S7+ and liek 3 ipads.

My 2021 HD 10 plus does okay. Admittedly I just read books/magazines, listen to music, and stream video on it. Still seems a little snappier than my last one (got the plus for the extra RAM).
