Has Anybody Tried This?

I am curious to how it works and am trying to think of a way to make it into a practical joke.

Exactly what I was thinking, like maybe putting a bladder or bag full of mentos into a container, fill it with coke, and then seal it tight, shake it and throw. If you crushed the mentos and made a tape seal on the bottom of the bottle, or maybe rolled up the mentos in a tinfoil ball?

Put like some sorta sticky stuff put it in, tightthen the cap and then drop it, the mentos will fall in from hitting the ground.

It takes around 350PSI to burst a soda bottle. You aren't going to get that from the soda and a mentos.

I used to put baking soda and vinegar into bottles and launch them. One went probably 45ft high once, it was awesome. I always figured tissue paper would work the best for holding the activator, but using ice sounds like a good idea for the mentos. You could have time bombs then if you enclosed them enough. It sounds like a bomb going off though so don't do it in a populated area.

I'm pretty sure that nothing would happen, but if anything was to happen, the cap would blow off first.

There is more strength at the cap, due to the threads. The bottom generally blows out first if you put the cap on tight enough, fast enough. I learned this the hard way and blinded myself for 2 or 3 minutes, it was very scary.

Yes I saw that one also, I LOL'ed. The creators were very clever and I enjoyed how they got the music just right.


Maybe they got the idea from seeing Family Guy's Parody of Mentos with Lincoln?
