Has anybody overpayed your Credit Card?

I must say, Chase Online has one of the slowest payments I have ever encountered.

I sent one payment in early November for the full amount (something like $80). Well, it says it will take 5-7 business days to credit. AFter 1 week went by, I sent in another payment. Another week went by, I sent in another payment.

So, then I checked the address I was sending it towards. Well, I never really specified an address (I assumed when it addresses "Chase", they will know it was for my credit card bill. So, I went and found the physical address of where to send in the credit card payments, etc.

So by end of November, my account still has not cleared, so I sent in another payment.

Well, my account got credited, finally, with 4x over the amount.

Has this happened to anyone?

They're both right, either leave it there as a credit or request a refund to force your balance back to zero.

I would just say leave it there because you're going to use your Chase cc anyways, right?

This means you won't have to send in a payment for quite some time 😉

Just leave it there and use it up at Xmas.

They will send you a refund immediately if you request it or will do it automatically after a couple of months with no activity. No harm in leaving it there-its like a no interest checking account.

Send your payments in in the envelopes the credit card company sends you or processing of your payment is delayed considerably.

I always overpay my account.. every month... at least by $100 - $200... because i KNOW i'm going to use it up anyways.
Usually i'll round up my payment... like if it's for $453... i'll pay anywhere from $500 - $600 or so...

Yeah, sometimes Chase is really slow... but they usually *try* to warn you with stupid "Chasemail" which you know you never read because it's stupid/worthless.
I just pay 3-4 business days before due just to make sure it goes through Ok... I've overpaid a few times since I know I've bought stuff after their cutoff date for the billing. I've never had several weeks go by though!

I do the exact same thing because I'm not hurting for cash, so I leave a bit extra. Except I do it because I go to the ATM to transfer funds, and I can't remember the exact amount. I just remember it's "three hundred and something" so I throw 400 in.

Now if they only credited you interest at the same rate that they charge...

Anyone remember that bug in Taipan?
