Has anybody here ever connected multiple Xbox's via a router/switch?

I have an SMC barricade internet gateway and I'm wondering if it's possible to connect 4 Xbox's to it and run a 16 player game of Halo. Has anyone here done this? I'm trying to find info about it on the Net but I'm not coming up with much (Google results get flooded with mod-chip sites and Xbox Live stuff).

If anyone here has been able to run the Xbox's in this configuration could you please run me through what exactly I'll need to get this going? I'm thinking the Internet Gateway + 4 straight Ethernet cables + 4 Xboxes ought to do it unless i'm doing something wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like it would work, I don't see why not.

I remember in EB, they sold a xbox connector kit or something, its practically a router with some cat5s. I'm pretty sure it'll work.

Yes it should/does work. That's the only way to get 4 boxes hooked together (via hub/switch/router)

I can't remember the specifics now (I'll ask the host later on) but we've hooked 4 Xboxes to 4 TVs in exactly the method you described. Port 1, 2, 3 and 4 got straight-thru cable to an Xbox each and they saw it other just fine.

16-player CTF Halo on 4 TVs = BLISS. :D

Yes,

I used a 5 port Linksys switch to hook 3 XBoxes together=12 players in Halo. I know Xbox supports up to 4 boxes with 16 players.

It will work.

We hooked up 4 xboxes in 2 different rooms in a research facility.

Pretty interesting.
