Even just moving the mouse, loading up solitaire and moving the cards around, or scrolling a web site will give you an idea of any motion blur. Keep in mind motion blur varies depending on neighboring pixels, so it may not be as bad as it seems in the applications you may use it for. Say the store has a policy where you can take it back, or even for a restocking fee, and you think you like the monitor in general but the motion blur ("ghosting") bothers you. Then buy it and try it for a week, even if by the first or second day, the iritation of ghosting still annoys you. The first day I got my LCD it took me just a little less than a week to get used to it. I couldn't stand it the first and second day, already thinking of returning it. I find the text blur to be a lot worse than the blur while gaming. But do your eyes a favor and keep it for a week, you may actually start to like it and realize how much more comfortable it is to look at than a CRT.
