I live (or at least my parents still do) in Neyagawa. Good to meet someone from Osaka, all my Japanese friends I've met in the US live in Tokyo and everytimes one of my US friends goes to Japan, it's always Tokyo, Tokyo, Tokyo. Makes me sick dammit, Osaka has so much more culture than Tokyo
So,
kami333, are you a Japanese citizen who moved to the States or did your family move to Japan and raise you there?
I totally agree with you on the Tokyo vs. Kansai issue. Tokyo is just this huge metropolis with lots of tall buildings, shops and offices, but it's all so cold... Including the people. Kansai folks are so much friendlier, the difference is like night and day. And all the great cultural centers are in Kansai: Nara, Kyoto, Osaka, even Kobe! People should go to Kansai if they want to have a truly memorable experience in Japan.
<EDIT>By the way, I spent my entire time here living in Northern Osaka. I lived in Minoh (city of monkeys and autumn leaves) for the most part, and just moved to Suita recently. I lived in Toyonaka for a year, too.</EDIT>
