UConn won the men and womens basketball championship the same year a few years ago, does that count? i dont know if its happened with football and basketball before. usually, schools are only good in one of the two. i saw the texas basketball team play, they werent very good, imo, but, anything is possible.
That's a good trivia question. I suspect Mich St might have won both and there's probably some really obscure team, maybe ivy league or army or something... that won them in like 1918 and 1931.Originally posted by: GagHalfrunt
Nope. In fact very few schools have won both national championships in their history let alone both at the same time. Basketball titles are dominated by traditional basketball powerhouses like Kentucky, UCLA, Duke and North Carolina, none of whom has EVER won in football. Football is dominated by Oklahoma, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Alabama and Ohio State, none of whom have EVER won in basketball. The only 2 schools that I can think of that have won both EVER are Syracuse and Michigan.
