Has a CAT ever kept you awake?

Last night, the neighbors' cat was meowing like nothing I've ever heard before outside on their porch. It kept me awake for a good solid half-an-hour or so.

Eventually, I did get to sleep, but the cat supposedly kept on meowing. You should've heard the kitty in the morning. It was PISSED OFF, since I think it didn't like being left outside all night. I've never heard a cat hiss until I'd heard this one this morning. I really felt sorry for the little feller -- it seriously wanted to be inside its home.

I've been kept awake by dogs, trains, and other loud phenomenon, but being kept awake by a cat just blows my mind. Anybody else ever been in my situation before?

Yep, the cat hasn't been snipped, and he wants to get a nut off. And has nowhere to do it...

I don't know if its a mating call or what... But I was watching my buddies cat, and it made this terribly noise...

My buddy failed to tell me that I could just let the cat out and prowel... I'd allways seen the cat inside... besides it was staying with me, and I did want the cat wandering around a strange nieghborhood, and not be able to find its way back...

Awful sound though... so annoying...

My cat keeps me up at night but its because he gives me the creeps. Its a black cat with evil yellow eyes and thats some scary shiz when he is sitting there next to or on top of you staring at you with his nose right in your face. ...Scary...

Is the kitty usually kept indoors? He/she might have gotten out. Either way, it sounds like the kitty was frieghtened at being lft out at night. 🙁 It is possible that it was calling for a mate, but the way you describe the way the cat sat on the porch and cried suggests otherwise. Cats looking for love usually roam as they cry.


The past several nights, I've been startled by noises on the roof. Turns out it's a cat I've dubbed &quot;Spooky,&quot; since he's all black with orange eyes. He's silent, there one moment and gone the next, so I can thankfully say he doesn't keep me up at night.

Yeah, I'm highly allergic to them. I stayed at a friend's house during a visit to Chicago, and her cat totally destroyed me.
