Umm then have their Pumpkin Ale retard. If you want pumpkin get pumpkin. Don't compare something to pumpkin when it's not when that's what you want.

Blue Moon and Sam Adams aren't particularly spectacular breweries. They're on the low end of the micro spectrum. Sierra Nevada is a better large scale micro.

Sam's Octoberfest is nothing to write home about, IMO. I'm not a beer snob, I love many of Sam's other brews (Sam's summer is one of my favorite beers), but Octoberfest is right down there with the Winter Ale :p

For those dogging Sam Adams... I'm with ya. But any beer snob knows that their Octoberfest brew is actually recognized to be pretty dang good.

Flying Dog Brewery's Dogtoberfest is the best marzen I've had this fall. Sam Adams Octoberfest is decent this year though, I like it a bit more than last years version. Had a good 6pack of Spaten Octoberfest as well.

Preferring pumpkin ale to marzen is all well and good, but its not really a apples to apples comparison. *shrug*

And yet I enjoy them! How can this be if they're so low end! I must have terrible, terrible taste. I should stop drinking beer because I enjoy this swill.

Not a big fan of Octoberfest beers. Got the last 2 12 packs of the delicious Summer Ale last friday from the distributor.

If you're talking about Blue Moon... then I got nothing to say.

If you're talking about Boston Beer Company, well... I like most of their products. And many are recognized, even by snobs, as simply good beer that is readily available all over the country.
The problem that often comes with "really, really good beer" is availability, production numbers, and shipping issues to certain states. Sometimes its hard to find everyone's favorite beer. Sam Adams at least is a brand that is easy to hunt down, though the difficulty comes down to finding one specific brew or another.

Also - Harvest Moon, the game, always rocked! Feel like playing it again. :D

Beer arguments on ATOT are old

next

I don't know why they're arguments in the first place. People are fighting and insulting things that other people enjoy. How can you tell someone "If you like that, you're stupid!"? It's amazing to me that anyone can get angry if someone doesn't have the same tastes as someone else. I don't get it.

Same goes for steak, chili, and as I learned recently...bottled water threads.
