Haruhi season 2

Haruhi was the first anime my friend introduced me to, a few years ago. There was also mention of a season 2, but it sounded like the anime version of duke nukem.

And today I found this. It looks legit to me but I haven't heard anything about season 2, and I feel like something that big would be near impossible to miss.

Is this for real?

I think it was only recently this news came out, so it's not surprising you hadn't heard about it yet. People thought S2 was starting back in April, but it ended up being a re-airing of the first season.

I read so much about it and finally watched it - didn't really do anything for me. But I'd watch the second season anyway.

I'm not into anime at all. I had friends who watch anime and they tried to get me into it, but I never liked anything. However, I loved this show.
