.....you have been warned.

I just saw it. The movie totally sucked. Gee, where to begin. First, a crap load of story, maybe half of the book, was thrown out of the movie. Second, due to time contraints, the movie rushed you through the entire story highlighting only big parts making the telling of the story non-coherent and eliminating many low points in the moive. This camaflauged any climax. Third, many parts were changed and possibly lengthened for idk what reason. Fourth, the acting sucked, especially Radcliffs, him crying in the end was not only potential-less, but also made no sense, considering the relationship he had with Cedric. Fifth, due to cutting of most of the story, many characters were cut off. Such as Draco, who seems to barely appear in the movie. Sirius who you don't even see. Sixth, new actor who plays the Dumbledore seems to slur throughout the movie and is overly aggressive towards Potter.

In short, it was bad as a movie and it really sucked if you read the book beforehand. In fact, I'd have to say that the most exciting and memorable moment was when Hermione and Ron had a fight over Krum and the Yule Ball.

After the movie was over I honestly felt cheated...it's a real clustered movie. What really had me angry though was all the screen time wasted with events that DID NOT happen in the books. It was a semi-valient effort, but I believe this is probably the turning point for the Potter movies. The rest of the books are way too large to be properly adapted to film. I find this dissapointing because this is the book that really got me interested in the series.

I was going to write a nice review detailing how much I disliked this movie, but I found another user reivew(on Yahoo! movies) that sums it up quite nicely.

NOTE: SPOILERS ahead in this link. He/she gives you the outline of the movie from beginning to end. Yahoo review

I agree, although not as extreme. I won't go as far as to say I disliked it, but it did leave to much out. I actually enjoyed the movie, but it was obvious that they cut lots of details to make sure it was under 2 1/2 hours. When the credits came up, my first thought was "I hope they include a lot of the deleted scenes on the DVD". I guess I shouldn't assume they filmed scenes to cover all of the story line though. Goblet of Fire is a good movie that was probably great before heavy editing.

Edit: I agree with VIAN's point about Dumbledore being aggressive. Why did he come across as mean spirited when the character has always been calm and supportive?

I guess Harry Potter is ok.... if youre 12.

you won't believe the amt of adults that love this stuff. It's understandable.

or even college kids. I have friends that have been reading them in college right now.

Im not sure if the fourth book is that much longer than the third. Yes pages have doubled but so has the spacing in the lines (12 compared to 20 I think)

How'd it feel to be the only person (barring parents) over 4' tall in there?

There were about 100 people in the theater when I saw this and I don't remember seeing ANY under 4'. Most were adults and some were older children.

animation was great. 5/5 for animation. 4/5 for the rest of the movie. it moved fast. did'nt realize how fast 2.5 hours passed.

No Quiditch in this movie!!! Only the opening sceen with the Quiditch word cup has any Quiditch involvement whatsoever, and another thing, there was almost no classes in the movie either. Cho was such a disapointment, she was suppose to be a hot Asian, not a chubby semi-decent Asian.

Good movie, Saw it at an Imax Friday night. Oh that was sweet.

dude.. that was apart of the story, quiditch was canceled for the year for the tournament

True, but there was quite a bit (more than in any other movie) that was changed or left out.

1) Most of the first 100 pages of book including quiditch match, Potter's guardian's house, etc
2) Potter's wand being used
3) House elf in stands relating to number 2
4) Body in the forest scene altered
5) Harry actually attending classes
6) The introduction for the year by Dumbledore

I know there were at least one or two more major ones I can't recall.

havent seen the movie but i guess the new director wanted to make it short.

Id rather see a 3 hour movie like LOTR than having a cut movie
