Harrison Ford Injured in Plane Crash

I'm not much of an optimist, but IMO 'injured in a plane crash' = 'had a pretty good day,' really. He's a lucky and/or skilled bastard.

Description of the crash sure is weird...they just say 'he clipped some trees,' like it's normal for planes to be flying at an altitude where there are trees...did he lose his engine or something that otherwise forced a crash landing? Looks like he did a good job of putting it down...I mean, that kinda goes back to the optimism thing...if you don't hit anything, don't tip a wing down and roll/cartwheel, generally keep the plane intact...solid landing, in my book....

Beautiful Aircraft
The Ryan PT-22 Recruit, the main military version of the Ryan ST, is a military trainer aircraft used by the United States Army Air Corps...

On March 5th, 2015, actor Harrison Ford was injured when his PT-22 was forced to make an emergency landing on the Penmar Golf Course in Venice, California. Ford was attempting to return to Santa Monica Airport after engine trouble.
My Dad learned to fly in the Army AIr Corps. He was always believed that any landing that you could walk away from was a good one...

Hope everything works out for Harrison....

He seemed barely coherent in 21 and some interviews I've seen. I'm surprised he flies. I wouldn't expect him to drive a car.

This is why he is always a terrible guest on talk shows. AFAIK, he's only in Hollywood if he happens to be working there on that specific day. Otherwise, he hangs out in his Wyoming mountain home and builds things.

It just occurred to me that that's why I always thought he was probably a pretty down to earth guy. I saw him on the Tonight Show (this is probably 10 to 15 years ago) and he was just uncomfortable as hell, not in a snobby, dismissive kind of way, just kind of shy and awkward.

eccentric and weird doesnt mean incapable. Look at Travolta. hes a weirdo and he flys multi engine planes all the time.

Have you seen his interviews when he was younger? He has always been a bit... different, just seems to be his personality.

Ford is basically the Marshawn Lynch of Hollywood. When he's on, he is fucking on--but don't expect him to enjoy public life.

I don't know how many recall, or ever knew this, but Lucas discovered Ford as he was walking out of some producer's office, and Ford was repairing an elevator, or something like that. Lucas cast him in American Graffiti on the spot, and there you go.

I'm assuming Ford was there to maybe do some of the acting stuff (being in Hollywood), but his heart has probably never been fully in it. He's damn good, but his real passion is carpentry.

lol at these peeps who get in these old planes without parachutes. u'd think they know there is a very high chance of something like this happening.

"Fly yes, land no"

🙁

Not one person has referenced "Nice landing" yet. I am disappoint.

Seriously, no one else hurt, he sounds reasonably good, so good story. Holy crap he's gotten hurt a lot in the last year though.

lol at those peeps who think you can safely parachute out of an airplane from 100 feet.

Old man suspected of deliberately riling up seagulls into path of plane. Please call if you have any information.
