Indeed sad.

Didn't realize he was up there in years but it has been quite a while since GhostBusters.

Too bad they can't do a real sequel now, they left many millions on the table.

He was always one of my favorite funny men because his humor was often subtle. Hell, even died at the most comical number for age possible - 69!

In his honor - "I've always been kind of a pacifist. When I was a kid, my father told me, "Never hit anyone in anger (pause) unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it." I don't know what kind of soldier I'm gonna make, but I want you guys to know that if we ever get into really heavy combat... I'll be right behind you guys. Every step of the way."

Sad to hear it, he put out some great work (both actor/director). He will be missed. I'll try to get the Ghostbuster Series, Caddyshack, NL's Vacation, and Groundhog Day in this week in memoriam.

In his first big-screen appearance, in the military comedy Stripes, he and Bill Murray play buddies who decide to join the Army just for fun. But first, they have to get past a recruiter, who asks: "Are either of you homosexuals?"

There's a long pause. Ramis and Murray eye each other, trying to figure out what answer is likeliest to get them in.

"No," Ramis' character says. "We're not homosexual. But we are willing to learn."

Egon????!?!?!!?!?!

NOOOOOOOOO!

"Dr. Egon Spengler: There's something very important I forgot to tell you.
Dr. Peter Venkman: What?
Dr. Egon Spengler: Don't cross the streams.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Why?
Dr. Egon Spengler: It would be bad.
Dr. Peter Venkman: I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean, "bad"?
Dr. Egon Spengler: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Dr Ray Stantz: Total protonic reversal.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon"

Time to watch some Stripes tonight.

Peter: "This reminds me of that time you tried to drill a hole in your head..."
Egon: "That would have worked if you hadn't stopped me!"

Those lines were not scripted BTW. A lot of Ghostbusters lines were made up on the spot.

If you're a gamer, go grab the Ghostbusters 2009 video game for cheap. It is FANTASTIC- featuring all of the original actors, it was supposedly the script that Akroyd wanted to use for Ghostbusters III.

Picked it up in Steam sale, it was great fun.

Just listened to an extended interview with Ivan. Some good/bad news as far as ghostbusters goes...

Film 3 will be made and should start sometime soon. With Bill being reluctant and Harold dieing, he decided to let it go to new actors and step back from being the director though he will probably take it on as producer. Should expect a new story vice going back for a retool.
