Sorry, I know this isn't a "deal" but this is the most relavent forum for my question (which has to do with an online store)..

Has anyone here bought anything from "Harmony Computers"? I'd like to know how their reliability and customer service are.

Mainly, because of this: Adobe Premiere 6.5
:Q that's an insane price... many times lower than anywhere else. Just wanting to make sure it's not a shady company or anything before I buy it (I've been looking for a good price on Premiere forever).

I guess this *could* be a "hot deal" thread.. that's a real hot deal on Premiere there!! :D

Thanks a bunch!

Premiere 6.5 is the old and greatly inferior version to the recently released Premiere Pro (essentially 7.0) prices for 6.5 will be dropping everywhere.

well you could buy this then get the upgrade from adobe which is only 150 also and have 7.0 for under 300 legally. (which is still to high for me to own it "legally")

While it may not be as deluxe as Premiere Pro, it certainly doesn't blow goats and it's certainly a lot cheaper than the $699 MSRP and $638.95 Pricegrabber price.

Or he could use it to get the upgrade for $149 from Adobe - total cost $300 vs. $699. That's pretty warm dealing. If he's a student, he can get a bundle with Premiere, After Effects, Encore DVD and Audition (formerly Cool Edit Pro) for ~$400 or PP alone for ~$225-$250 from academic sites.

Why would you worry about their reliability? They say right on their webpage that they are the most trusted name in computer mail order, LOL.

Harmony used to be well known as an electronics "chop-shop." One of those hassedic-run camera shops that converted to computers when it became profitable (if it's the same people). I think they are in Long Island somewhere. Used to be notorious for selling grey-market goods back in the day (before everyone was buying stuff on the internet). Maybe they have made good recently but back then you had to be careful what you bought from them and check the box closely to make sure that it wasn't refurbished stuff.

I bought a Canon S400 from them at a great price and received it two days after ordering. All parts were there, including warranty card. I also called them before purchasing to ask a question and found them to be friendly and knowledgeable. I would buy from them again.

Ok, thanks all, I think I'm going to go for it (Premiere).

Great idea also, if I wanted the 7.0 upgrade I can get the whole package for under $300. I'll keep that in mind! :D
