First this qualifier: This CD player has been slammed on some Stereo reveive sites for being inherently defective. HK claims it has fixed the problems found in earlier models.

That said, would have to be godawful for what was meant to be a high end CD player to not be worth $150.

It can be had at [l]www.800.com[/l] for $200. 800.com is having a $20 off $100 sale that is posted on it's home page. There is a $30 off $150 rebate for 800.com if you go through one of the ECS sites listed on this page:
ECS or search for any thread authored by Nitz.

huesman, would you post here when you get that kenwood and give us a review on it..? based on the specs alone (s/n ratio, freq response) it seems pretty decent for the price. let us know all the details when you get it, not just the sound and functionality, but the construction (is it built solid or flimsy, is it nice and heavy or cheap/lighweight, etc)... the only thing that would have made this a killer is if it supported cd-text... oh, also, let us know if it reads your cd-r discs, and what brands, etc... thanks...

According to the Kenwood website it supports CD Text from encoded CDs. It also supports CD naming, input by the user, 210 discs, 25 characters each.

I have an older model of the Kenwood 200 Disk changer (I forget the model number... I'm at work). Personally, I like it cuz it holds abunch of CD's, and this is pretty much it's best quality. Mine is kinda noisy as it changes disks and the non-cd-text enabled disks take forever to program their names into the changer. The construction is ok, not really poor (it hasn't broken in like 2 1/2 years), but it is kinda lightweight. If you are an audiophile, this player isn't for you, but then again, you already knew that didn't cha. For the rest of us, inculding people who really like good sounding music, this player is not a bad choice for it's price point. That's my 2 cents.

You can actually say that on here? Heh, learn something new every day. 😉

I say we use him as an example of the first person to be banned via 'public consensus vote.'

LOL, I just got up and this sure got me in a good mood for some reason. Thanks, for the hot deal anand! 😉
