when was the last time ati pr came out with a flat out lie? seems to me there was something other than the comments made last year (when they specifically denied paper luanches, then did a paper launch)? i seem to remember instances where ati's PR had their asses handed to them, but i can't remember specifically. anyone help?
Keys do you really think ATI is concerned about that review ? If its true it doesn't matter because the Truth will be none . It can't hurt sells as their not for sell yet.
If its a Lie the truth will be none. It shouldn't hurt sells and if someone runs out and buys a G70 right now over that review Ati is way better off with out that user. Why?
If that article is false and ATI is infact 10% to 15% faster . ATI marketing is smart eough to Know. That person was ignorant to start with and thats the tpye of person ATI marketing want to by nvidia cards. WHY? ATI figures thats the same type of person that will do a bad install. You know the type there the ones at the orb. that have score 20% to 30% slower than a comparable PC, Than they go to forums and puts down that product. Its just good common since. Look it really doesn't matter who wins this around . ATI has owned the single card performance since the introduction of the R300. SO ATI has produced the most powerful gaming GPU for years now . But this it .This is the last generation of these cards. From here on out its Going to be WGF 2.0 and SM4 and ATI already has all the Specs. out there and running in the form of R500. So ATI's First desk top release of this GPU is in fact there secound generation. Of this GPU. So don't kid yourselves about who leads the industry. In GPU ownership as far as power goes. At this time right now the R500 is . Oh but thats a consol that don't count . YA RIGHT ITS ATI. IT IS proof of a working next generation GPU . THAT JUST SCREAMS performance
This poor guy? Are you kidding me? This guy is getting exactly what he deserves. If someone was threatening your company and trying to strong arm you into getting his way, would you sit back and take it? Frankly before today I never heard of this guy's website and IMO ATI was right in not giving him a card.... he's clearly shown he's not a professional and is a childish nerd who didn't get his new toy so he's acting out.
In the end he had no impact on the stock (losing a penny is not an impact) and he's probably caused himself more grief than he's caused ATI.
Growing up in a news room (not a news guy myself), I have seen many examples of using someone as a pawn. This has all the earmarking of that. Wouldn't be surprised if the benchies supplied to him were cleared through ati pr first. Of course all this takes Sanders active participation (and greed for the perks), but is still no fun to watch.

i bash ati at times.. i also defend them at times. same goes for nvidia.
it's just beyond me why people would be biased, one way or the other. they are corporations whose main goal is to accumulate as much $$$ as possible and to satisfy their shareholders. sometimes they come out with products which enhance one of the things i enjoy - computers. but do i care if it's nvidia or ati (or someone else) who comes out with the product which most benefits my endeavor? nope, i just go with the one i feel offers the best features/performance for the $.
i do not understand why anyone would "like" one over the other. that's just fkn silly...
as for this whole benchmark thing, i believe the #'s are accurate for the 520 that's out there now with current drivers, and tend to agree with faud over at the inq:

and again, i don't see how those #'s are THAT bad.. ati has said nothing other than r520 would be "competitive" with g70, and isn't that what we are seeing? seems the only ones who should be truly disappointed are ati fanbois who were unrealistically hoping for a g70 "killer" from ati...
crossfire, on the other hand looks to be a complete fiasco.....especially all those who earlier touted how much more 'elegant' of a solution it was over nv's sli...

what so ati could be making him release false info, so they can blast through with a last second save and produce a GFX thats a beast. man i never want to get into marketing and politics, ill stick with engineering, then all i have to do is build the damn thing😀

but i think ronns idea could be possible, just when people think ATI have washed out, they remove the NDA and blam.....wicked pie GPU comes out. and even if its only slightly faster than NV, it'll still look better because theyre comparing it to poor benchmarks from HA?

No one is suggesting that Ati made him do anything, appears his own greed took care of that part. Not even suggesting the benchies are false. I am suggesting that Ati is certainly making use of this. Will repeat again, having your weaknesses exposed before launch can be very useful. A little improvement and things suddenly look better than expected and with other positvie stuff - can certainly make for more positive reviews. Preparing the ground before a launch is what all good pr departments do. Why do you think the chosen few get to go on a nice junket? (at least I think someone said something about this happening)

yeah, i dont think it really matters if ATI's card is slower than NV's in the big scheme of things, theyre both still gonna be big handfulls of GPU, your still gonna get stella performance
though paying a $150 more for a slower product is questionable.
yeah i think that in the end its going to come down to who has the better IQ, and that will then que the nit-pickers who freeze frame every frame rendered and use a fine tooth comb to find where one IQ is better than the other.
