Ok, I got this junkie computer... its got a gigabyte motherboard and it sucks. Freezes all the time.. because my motherboard is so unstable. Its not my drivers, i have the latest ones.. and its not my other hardware, im musing a GForce 3. I have SDR PC133 ram in this thing and a 13GB hardrive. What would be the ideal motherboard to upgrade to? Im running a Duron 800 CPU.

Im willing to switch to DDR ram as well to make things go faster, I just need a good motherboard.. any suggestions? I'm not that big on overclocking so I dont need the Apox boards. I'm thinking of upgrading to a good Asus mobo. What do you guys think?
Thanks

I have an Asus A7V running a 900 T-bird 512MB of PC133 RAM. It's been pretty good so far. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of better boards out there, so I'm just going to add mine to that list. Hope this helps.

Well, do you guys think by switching my motherboard its going to make a big impact on what I do?
When I play diablo 2.. the game freezes all the time,
I cant even play wolfenstein on medium settings... that sholdent be happening with a 800Mhz chip. I have no conflicts because everything is built onto the mobo, except for my GForce.
So i know it must be the gigabyte piece of crap... i just hope its going to make a big difference.

The freezing can come from a few different places: overheating, bad drivers, hardware conflicts, bad parts. Since your drivers are up to date that can go out the window. A new motherboard can fix your problem, or it can't unless you find out the source of your problem. Check your control panel and see if you have any hardware conflicts. If not, try disabling one piece of hardware at a time until you can get a good boot up. If all else fails, then just get the new motherboard. Good luck. :)

Like i said i dont have any conflicts...
I checked in control panel already, and second EVERYTHING is internally built into my mobo... except for my GForce... but other then that everythings built in.

I dont think its the drivers, .. even though i might check out nvidias website for the new Detonators... but, my comp always went choppy even before I got my GForce. I know my gigabyte mobo got a 5.5 rating on here, so i know its pretty crappy :)

Anyways, thanks for the replies! I really appreciate it, u guys have any suggestions for mobos?
