Hardware profiles at Win 7

A very useful feature of XP was the possibility of creating hardware profiles with different services configuration, I used it for gaming, disabling all useless services thence improving system performance.-
I cannot find the way to do the same at Win 7 Ultimate.- Is there any way, or any external aplication that does it ?
Maybe it can be done by creating diferent user acounts, but I hate UAC so I disabled it.-
Thanks

I believe Hardware Profiles were removed in Vista and are not present in Win7. You can probably try VHDs for your purposes but to be honest I haven't used Hardware Profiles in a very long time. Our computers are much faster nowadays and don't really need the extra work for marginal results.

What are "VHDs" ?
