Hey all, so this is my second rig.

Ive always had problems with hardware, ill get top of the line hardware and set it up exactly the way it was supposed to be set up, install the right drivers, and the rigs will always suck. Take as a example the rig I just built.

Amd 3700 Oc'ed to 4000 ( socket 939 san diego)
Asus A8n ali deluxe
Evga 7800gtx KO edition
Sound blaster audigy 2 ZS platnium
Maxtor diamondmax 120gb Sata drive
2 Gigs geil vlaue ram

I set all this up, my second rig, my first was ok but never lived up to the standards of other computers with identical specs.

So i set this comp up, install all the drivers, run some benchmarks, and heavyload to adjust temps and CPU OC'ing, and I got with Application controlled AA and AF and perfomance with Vertical sync on in 3d Mark 05, and i got 6k. this is with the Nvidia 81.98 drivers, the newest ones as of 12/18/05. I could really use some help to try and figure out what im doing wrong, as I cant even run some of my games on full settings (COD2)(40 FPs full setting BF2). Btw using a 1024x1280 flat screen 4 MS.

Also, ive been reading the anandtech forums off and on for about 6 months now, just this time I had something to say 🙂 good to be here

8475. Still very low. should be ATLEAST gettin 10k+ with this rig. What would need upgrading? i dont see whats causing this problem.

I want some of what you're smoking. If you want 10k, get SLI. Without heavy GPU OCing your score is outstanding.

No way you're getting over 10K with a (single) 7800GTX, unless it is heavily overclocked. Even the 7800GTX"Ultra" 512MB doesn't break 10K at stock in 3DMark05.
 
🙁 well for one thats good to hear but still i feel like i can get it higher. Oh well peace of mind is good 😀 I also wanted to know if i were to have $600-800, at about july-ish time, what should i upgrade? i was thinking SLI evga cards or CPU M2 core. Pretty much if i go SLI will the CPU bottleneck me?
