Hardware for small wireless network?

My company just bought a "visitors" computer to be placed in the front entry way of the office. The desktop tower will most likely sit on the floor, though that is still uncertain. We concluded that it would be far more cost effective to set up a wireless solution for this desktop than to run a bunch of new wire through the walls and ceilings. The distance between the wireless router and the desktop is about 50 feet. The signal would have to pass through 2 walls but no ceilings (both locations are on the same floor).

For the desktop, which type of wireless NIC would be preferable?

PCI ($70) or USB2 ($100)?

I am leaning towards the USB2 since the antenna can be placed higher up than say if the PIC NIC were installed in the computer on the floor.

As for the wireless router itself, I am looking at two Linksys models:

WRT54G ($80) or the WRT54GS-CU ($100). The latter has "SpeedBooster" technology. Is that just a gimic?

We will need to use WEP, so I am concerned that the signal strength will be too weak to travel 50 feet.

Suggestions?

Distance wise you should not have much trouble!

As far as hardware I'd consider some ther choices the just Linksys. I would also not go USB, sounds like more of a hustle. get something like this. It will still give you an antenna that you can adjust.
