Has anyone ever used this device to determine what component is bad? Does it work if the pc will not even boot?

OK, so I've got this thing plugged in. Theonly light that comes on is the standby light, but the standby light is also on on the MB. Nothing happens when I press the power button. If the light comes on the MB, does that mean the MB is fine. Should I be looking at replacing the CPU? I already tried a PSU, but that seems to be fine. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I have one of those its ok but not great (better ones are a lot more expensive). If you look at their manual it explains what the lights and codes mean. If you are only getting the standby light and none of the other power lights then get a power supply tester as its either the power supply or the motherboard and the tester should help you figure out which. http://www.soyousa.com/dl/manuals/peripherals/techaid_manual_v10.pdf
