Hardware Data Recovery

Hello all.

I just wanted to know if any of you all had personal experiences with sending a Hard Drive off to one of those companies who do hardware data recovery and if you were able to get back the majority of data.

I have a Seagate Barracuda 120GB drive that is not spinning up and is not detected by the BIOS nor any software recovery programs.

I have seen there are quite a few companies out there but i'd like to hear if any of you all personally dealt with any one of them and would recommend their services.

Thanks.

Yes, another recommendation for Drive Savers. They have a dust free room which enables them to be able to actually remove the physical platters and put them into whatever other thing they can do. It's pretty neat how they do it and quite expensive. But if the data is that important to you then cost shouldn't matter.

Thanks for the tip on Drive Savers.

The drive I got is from a local recording studio who was crazy enough to not keep a backup of their drive... now alot of their music both released and unreleased is 'gone' so I would imagine something that important to them would have to be worth it to spend the $$.
