Hardware Calibration?

Ok so after years of running software calibrated TN's I switched to a triple Dell U2412M Setup (NV Surround). I don't really have any reason to do hardware calibration since this setup is used for gaming and some general stuff. I don't do anything that needs super accurate colors but right now I just feel like I'm not getting the most out of my 1000$ monitor setup.

Not looking to spend a whole lot on it either but I figure even something like a DataColor Spyder 4 Express would still be vastly superior to tinkering with the OSD while looking at gradients.

So what do you guys think, should I drop 120$ and get these calibrated or am I being silly and should spend the money elsewhere?

Spending $1000 on monitors and not even doing basic calibration is bad. I calibrate all monitors and tv's I have with HD Basics Blu-ray. It's not top of the line or anything but but it definitely makes a big difference in how my monitors and tv's look. Plus while gaming for long sessions, getting the brightness down correctly will help with eyestrain too.

Yes, it's worth it. You can also use the same device to calibrate your television if you wanted to. I have an Eye-One Display 2. I use it mostly for calibrating my TV, but it also came in extremely handy for getting dual screen setup looking as uniform as possible.
