hardrive on controller card won't show for formatting

I installed an Innovision AP-1680 raid card and a WD1200JB drive on it. I'm not using the raid features, just need more IDE ports.

The post screen of the card shows the drive, the diagnostic of the WD software disk shows it working, but the formatting utility only shows the 4 drives on the MSI 815E motherboards IDE bus.

I've done this once before on another machine and don't recall any problems. What am I missing?

What operating system are you using? Have you tried a program like partition magic?

Try this: Start->Control Panel->Administrative tools->Computer management->Storage->Disk Management
