Hmmm, i figured that much. I couldn't access either of those sites(nor could two of my friends who also use Comcast)the minute comcast switched over to their new network. Everything is working great here. Are they allowed to block sites like that? Or any site for that matter?
They might be using a HOSTS file, or you might have one if you use a web-accelerator.
"...if you've hard-wired web sites into your Favorites or Bookmarks, or if you use a web-accelerator or other tool that employs a Hosts file (or similar technique) to hardwire specific IP addresses for sites and pages, some ...links may falsely *appear* to be broken when the pages move to a new IP address."
Nope. I don't use any kind of speed program and when I checked the sites I typed in the addresses myself. I even tried clicking on those IP links you gave me. That didn't work either. I just tried to ping the sites and that worked fine. Dunno what the heck is goin on. I'm running XP Pro and I have every update installed. The sites were working fine until comcast switched over. I even tried disconnecting from my router and going straight to my NIC but that didn't work either. Anyone else in Jersey with Comcast have this problem?
