Am I the only person who thinks these guys are...well...acting like asses about pricing mistakes? There is another mistake now by Amazon/Circuit City and they are again making a big deal about it. What pushes ME over the edge is that they link some guy's email since he sent them an email disagreeing with them. VERY tasteless...just like they are.

Yup, get over it.

I was one of the first orders, but I knew they would cancel. I took my $20 gift credit and got a Sony Memory stick for my Clie.

I visit their forums from time to time but I stay away from those Best Buy threads..... cuz I disagree with them 100% and if you voice your opinion, they'll ban you. The guy who runs HardOCP, Steve I think is his name, is a total prick anyway... have you ever seen the hypothermia site?? It's unbelieveably biased and full of crap..

<< And don't give me this "You knew it as a screw up!" bullshit. >>

Oh, gawd.

1) The product code in the title, 100431023
2) The friggin' picture
3) That funky character code after "8500"

You must be really reaching if you can see it as being something other than the LE. :disgust:

edit: And if they do get something, give them exactly that: an "ATE" video card. ;)

I like the hardocp just as much as anandtech, and will agree that some of the people go overboard with the pricing but perhaps you don't remember some of the great hot deal stuff here? :D

Actually I think kyle and steve are both pretty coo. i've even emailed 'em both a few times and always got back a response

Yep, they're a little overboard, but I like the hardware site more than the forums.

Steve @ Hypothermia.gamershardware.com subs for Kyle when he's not around, HardOCP does several updates per day, and they're pretty respectful of Anand's hardware site, which I like.

Hypothermia interviewed had Asia Carrera & has some interesting pics of her if you're willing to dig through the site to find them.

HardOCP is awesome. The BB deals are kinda annoying but it is good to see Americans practicing their rights...

Right to what? Ripping off companies that are legitimately trying to earn a profit?

Practicing their rights to challenge BB in price errors. Did I say I agree with what they are doing?

<<Practicing their rights to challenge BB in price errors. Did I say I agree with what they are doing? >>

Why is it that companies aren't allowed to make mistakes in pricing? And why is it that people get pissed when they try to take advantage of what they know full well is a pricing error and the company won't honor it when they find out?

If you put something for sale in the paper and accidently gave the ad dept. the wrong price, would you still sell it for that price when people starting calling? Of course you wouldn't. You'd probably blame it on the paper, and tell them the real price.
So someone at BB accidently typed in a wrong digit when making an ad, so when they realize what's happened, they should still honor the price? I've seen correction notices placed in stores plenty of times. People make mistakes. It's somewhat dishonest to seek those mistakes out and intentionally try and take advantage of them.
