I hated that board for several reasons, I got trolled and no one gave a sh!t and they dissed a couple of my friends at Troll Hunters, especially Rainguy. I am sorry for you Hard fanboys out there, but AT is way much better than that.

I have been going there recently. Still go here though. One good thing is that Kyle doesn't charge $30 for access to the forums.

It's certainly less tame than here, but it has its good points. It has a TON of great subforums. Airsoft, Firearms, Cars, Games, etc. Each has it's own forum and is heavily moderated to keep the crap out. Being able to post pics is pretty cool. It's closer to Something Aweful in some aspects than it is AT 😛
 
We have simply outgrown the hardware that we have available. It will be remedied soon.

Sounds more like down for a short time than "shut down." I like both this place and that one, but Kyle refuses to take money for the site and you have to respect that decision. Not that I think anything is wrong with anand doing so though either.

I agree with Soy and his take. I liked GenMay. It was different from here. I liked the inline images, and the little more relaxed attitude about cursing and what you could talk about. It is more immature than here, but not by much, on occasion. I like both for diff reasons, kinda sucks to see it go.

Last I checked Anandtech was still free to those that want it and can follow the rules.
