The reason I came over here from Hardforum was because in the last couple of years they've been being pricks about banning people just because they feel like it. I wasn't banned myself, but reading some of Kyles posts inspired me to just move on. I see no reason to to spend my time someplace that pisses me off that much.

I tried to register there during the AT downtime but when I found out they don't accept yahoo/hotmail/gmail, I said "fuck that" and lurked elsewhere

I believe that running Firefox without Adblock Plus is a bannable offense on any forum. You should download it now before the AT mods find out: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/1865.

LOL, on Ars Technica, part of their agreement when you sign up is to NOT use Adblock on their site. Not sure how many people abide by that rule though... I mean, I don't even think there's a way of enforcing it (unless someone comes out and says that they use Adblock while on the forums).

On most sites, if I didn't block ads I would despise the site so much I would never visit.

[ H] is great for technical stuff really. If you're going there on OT or other heated discussions, you can see why Kyle is an @$$.

However, there's no greater resource than the guys who tear down build #s of Dell 2407s and what not. We lack that kind of technical resources. Here our power supply forum is filled with 90% threads saying "IS MY PSU ENOUGH?" when all of those can be solved with a simple PSU calculator. And seriously, 90% of those threads are people using 8 year old 380W PSUs. Are 600W PSUs that expenive? I bought a $22 OCZ PSU last year for my mom's computer. Silent as hell. I tested the rails too and they're solid.

So sorry AT, if I have a serious question about say monitor calibration or Dell LCD banding or CPU cooling, I'll head to HardForums or XtremeSystems. Actually I'll usually crosspost here but the answers I get here are pretty lame or useless most of the time.

🙁

So you did not seem to think it was that bad until you got banned?

And you know exactly what you got banned. You were spamming to 50 posts that you could meet the minimum required amount of posts to sell your wares in our huge FSFT. That is simply not allowed. Our FSFT is for people that are members of our community, not abusers of our community.

Our board members GREATLY appreciate our attempt to keep the trolls down to a minimum and you were caught in that net.

Sorry, but these things happen. Should you wish to actually discuss it like an adult with me, please send me an email. But name calling here at AT will get you nowhere with getting a clean HardForum membership. Have a good one.

Well, i posted my thread when i got to 52 or 5(something) posts, but i didn't stop posting just for the B/S/T if you would have notice i was still posting in threads and as i hit the submit button to (cant remember what thread it was) it said i got banned. so i didn't really Troll and shit to get to 50 posts and stop for just the B/S/T.

What you banned me for should have been for getting 50 post making a thread and only browsing the B/S/T, but i didnt even to that, and you gave me a infraction for that, and then you banned me right after the infraction, and i think the infraction itself was unnecessary because i was not trolling and spamming.

Also! my ban says "No reason was specified" so that means i shouldn't have been banned if you knew what i was being banned for because it didn't say Banned for: "Spamming to 50".

Seems, he already told you what you could do. This is the wrong forum to be arguing in.

I stopped looking at HardOCP when they stopped putting up full-res screenshots for the playable settings when they did game or video card reviews

Yea, but i don't like getting blamed for shit that says i troll and spamming, do i troll and spam this forum or overclock.net or pbnation.. no i don't, so why would i do it there. The reason why my posts on that forum where so close to each other is because there is this little button on the top of the page that says "New posts" and i seen post that interested me and posted in them, so if HF does not want this happening again i suggest they remove there "New posts" button.

also gotta link to my posts..
http://hardforum.com/search.php?searchid=13295256

Read them if you want, and the timestamp are so close because i would click "new posts" button and see the new posts people posted and reply to them... so i can see how that's spamming to 50.

Yeah, but they also take that way too far. They're like audiophiles in that they trash stuff they've never used/seen, and blow things way out of proportion. A lot of the threads don't have that much useful info, and you have to dig through pages and pages to get to it. AT used to be much better, as you'd get genuinely helpful info without all the extra fluff you get on Hardforum, but sadly that's not much the case anymore.
