I know, my first MOD quote! I should put it in my SIG or something to mark the occasion!

My very own MOD quote... awww! :p

I think I missed something

I was surprised no one mentioned the airplane question until now. Too bad I found this thread too late..

Also.. 0.99999... = 1? Heh. Come on. Those are the two HARDEST questions ever.

I'm not sure they are the hardest, but they seem to be the most frequently discussed.

KarenMarie, that is a great quote, BTW.

Clearly the egg, fish/insects/etc. were laying eggs long before chickens came around.

Chicken vs. Chicken Egg is harder... but Chicken Egg came first too I think.

If you assume "chicken egg" to be an egg that hatches a chicken...
At some point there was a point where whatever sort of bird it was could be defined as a "chicken". There was a first "chicken"... due to mutation of whatever defined its "chickenness". This first "chicken" was in an egg that was layed by the ancestral chicken predecessor.

If you assume "chicken egg" to be an egg layed by a chicken... (which I don't think makes as much sense as the first definition)
The first chicken was hatched from the ancestral chicken predecessor. The first egg it lays is the first "chicken egg", so the chicken came first.
I agree with the theory but the answer depends on how you define "chicken egg". I define it as an egg that a chicken hatches out of, not an egg that a chicken lays, so the very first "chicken" born as mutant offspring from a pre-chicken evolution came out of its own chicken egg, so the egg came first.

Ane me.

Edit: Sorry, It's just CPA. For some reason I saw a "1" in front of the "8"

The hardest question in the world is "Why?" Anybody that has a young child or works with young children should understand.
