<< You can get a Famous Star quarter pounder for $.99 at the Carls Jr. near me. This is a much better deal, as two of these and a fries would be cheaper and more filling than a 3.95 burger. >>

I tried that before (years ago?), and felt just so-so. They sent me free burger coupon months ago, I only ate half and I will never go there again.

No question about it, (and I'm sure most of you die hard burger fans would agree), that the best burger in existance is the Peppercorn Burger from Chili's.

7 ounces of Angus beef grilled with a cracked peppercorn crust stacked on a big bun. What makes this burger the best is that instead of having raw onions on it, Chili's put a handfull of their famous "Awesome Blossum" onion peddles on the beast. Comes with great seasoned fries for about $6.

I don't know about you, but I'd take a Peppercorn burger over any other burger I've ever tried. (And believe me, I've tried a few) ;)

I just can't imagine Hardee's making a quality burger.

The most notable burger I've had was at a place called "Cheeburger Cheeburger" in Ocean City, NJ. The weights of their burgers are all POST-cooking... they have a 1-lber (AFTER cooking), but I wimped out. I had the 3/4 lber. It was called the "semi-serious." The kicker was that the 1 lber used a special sized bun as big as your face, but the other ones just used regular buns.

Someday, I will conquer it.

Wow, all this banter and still no mention of the place that sells burgers so good they remind you of sex. Doesn't anyone from CA read this forum?

Islands is all right, Hardees used to be good I remember when I was little, their burgers where so juicy back then. My favorite burger has to be the bacon ultimate cheeseburger from jack in the box, mmmmmmm. Not only good food but funny commercials.

The six dollar burger at Carl's is damn good. At $3.95, it may not be a bargain. (the best bargain is the .99 CENT double Cheeseburger from BK in Phoenix, but that's another thread.)

It's still pretty good. Ketchup, mustard and mayo on the Carls one, with sweet pickles, onion tomato and lettuce. Not bad for $3.95. Definitely on par with what they got at Chilis, Fridays, Bennigans, you name it.

for about $4 you can get a 3x3 at in-n-out, which have the best burgers IMO. or for a little more you can get the 4x4, man that's a heart killer right there.

Look, there's no reason to spend $3.95 on the Big Burger. Just have Staples PM the price, buy 26 of them so you can use the $20 off $100 coupon and use your Amex Blue just to play it safe.

Hi everybody,

I just thought I would point out a little something. Now keep in mind I am not exaclty the most diet concious person, but I went to Carl's Jr web site and looked up the nutrition facts for this burger

calories :949
calories from fat :562
total fat :62
Saturated fat :25
Cholesterol :137

Your average diet should be somewhere between 2000 -1500 calories a day and at most 45-50 grams of fat.

Now, like I said, I am not the most diet minded, but I couldn't believe this when I saw these numbers. No wonder America is getting fat

actually, only the saturated fat is bad for you. Regular still isn't good, but saturated is 100x worse. For grossly underweight individuals such as myself, this is a great sandwich ;)

Best burger I have ever had is at Fudruckers and is 100% ostrich meat. Tastes just like beef but wait it's much better. Little to no fat and still very juicy unlike that ground turkey breast never could be a burger if it tried substitute.

The best burger that I ever had was from McDonalds. It was years ago and I was at the tender age of 16 or 17. I was also really stoned. McDonald's was running the "All American Meal" special, and it was a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with a fry and a coke. Me and a buddy got one each and polished it off, and then went back for seconds. I knocked out my second American meal, but my friend couldn't eat his second order of fries. Mmmm... the fries were good, too. I was so full that I couldn't swallow, so I chewed the third order of fries and spat them out into the bag. Yummy!

<< The best burger I have EVER eaten was a mushroom burger at a place called "Islands >>

Yes, Island's, those are really $6 burgers (not exactly $6, price depends on the burger), the Hawaiian burger is good - with pineapple, mushroom, teriyaki sauce.

Back when I was in highschool they had these coupon cards, 2for1 westerns. I probably used that $10 card 50 times. Then Carls stoped it because they said they were loosing money on the deal (oops, my bad, over use) Nothing like eating 2 westerns, accept eating 1 double western. I think I have gained 10 pounds in the last 5 months, thats a lot considering I excercise almost every day. I probly eat 3 of those doubles a week. Its good to be californian, In n out, Carls, no hardees, jack, bk, McD, del taco, and so on. Its hard to eat healthy with all of that stuff out there. So damn tempting.

IN N OUT has some good burgers but their fries are dry unsalted crap...some people like em though for some reason.

I'ver almost odered the Six Dollar Burger at Carl's Jr a couple of times but I usually end up getting 2 of the 99 cent burgers instead.
