Hardee's/Carl's Jr. Low carb combo

Ok. The combo comes with a hambuger patty wrapped in lettuce, a medium drink and a side salad.

First, the hamburger had ketchup in it (carb), then the salad had bread crumbs in it, and the drink is a diet cola soda which contains aspartame (ok but not recommended).

Also, why does the bunless six dollar burger cost equivalent to the six dollar burger without buns? 😕

Um, it's a low carb combo, not a carbless combo. How many carbs you do you really think that 1oz of ketchup really has? Seriously?

And it costs the same because those it's an easy way to make more profit off the Atkins craze.

cuz it's low carb, not NO carb. if anyone is really on a low carb diet, i don't think they should be eating at carls jr regardless of what stuipd new promotions they come up with.

Agreed. Low-carb should not give way to common sense. An 8 oz filet and 8 oz of whopper meat are not the same, even though they are both technically meat, one (the filet) might be OK but that doesn't mean that everything that has meat in it is.

plus don't you need carbs in your diet regardless? the complex carbs such as potatoes and bread for energy during the day. if you cut out carbs almost completely, doesn't that leave you a bit tired and weak? i don't know much about the atkins diet.

No, you can survive without carbs. You're suppose to avoid processed carbs.

Yup, but they watch what they eat. Try to avoid processed carbs unless it is like supplements.

I've been doing the low carb thing for about 9 months now. I exercise regularly and I've never had more energy.

You know how sometimes you get real tired after lunch and say to yourself, "A nap would be so great right now!" Ever since I started watching how many carbs I intake, those "energy swings" are completely gone. Just for that fact alone, I'll never go back to not paying attention to carbs.


But to answer the original question... As others said, it's "low carb". The amount of carbs in barely any ketchup and a few bread crumbs isn't much at all. True, aspartame isn't recommended, as some argue that it creates toxins/methanol in your body... The jury is still out on it. At any rate, it's still zero carbs.

Not to get too far off topic... But I predict that eventually we will learn that aspartame and trans fats (hydrogenated oils) are incredibly dangerous for you, and we'll wonder how they ever became such popular ingrediants.

You can not survive without carbs. The body needs glucose since the brain can only utilize glucose for energy.
