Harddrive question

I was just wondering if I bought a new sata harddrive if I could still use my old IDE drive with it. I would imagine I could, but figured I would make sure before I get it. Thanks in advance.

they have different interfaces... but as long as your MB has both SATA and IDE then you're fine.

I hear the Dell 3000 systems only come with a SATA interface and no IDE? Is this rumor true? If it is, then the optical drives must be SATA as well (in the system that is)?
