I'm installing three devices via IDE. One is a IDE Harddrive but this drive will be for backup purposes and not the primary drive. I will be using a SATA harddrive as the boot disk. The other two IDE devices will be two CD/DVD drives. I'm installing them into an Asus motherboard and am not sure which IDE slot the three devices would go into. The manual says one is for a Slave device, and one is for a Primary device, and one is for a master slave device. If anyone could tell me which one I would want to plug each one of these into I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Ok I figured out where to plug them in but I have another question. If I want my SATA drive to be the master drive, and an IDE drive to be a slave drive do I have to connect the IDE drive as a slave or is that irrelevant since one is SATA and one is IDE? Also is it smart to just wait until after Windows is installed on the SATA drive to go back and install the IDE drive or is it ok to connect them both prior to installing windows?
