hi i had just steup my board with xp 2200 and maxtor 40gb 7200 rpm and a liteon 52x burner, msi geforce 4 ti 4200 card, all running on winxp pro. then i used cdrwin to burn an iso... successful. Then i tried burning something else.. the program crashed. i restarted the computer, then it wouldnt boot from OS... post was successful, but it just kept saying invalid system disk. So i booted from winxp cd rom, formated the drive, it said 4.2mb in bad sectors... never said this b4when i first installed.. so i install everything is fine again. Then i install Clonecd program, it asks me to reboot the computer.. again the invalid system disk problem..

i can't understand what the problem is.. both the hd and cdrw are connected on separateide cables, both are master.

there is no floppy drive, didnt install one, so it cant be that.

Can anyone tell me or put forward some suggestions as to what is going on here. i keep thinking its the burner thats causing this somehow...

yeah, i tried formatting the drive and it said track 0 bad - disk unsuable.. is everything gone.. or shouldi still try that software by maxtor.. also in the hdd case of my cpu, does it matter if the underside of the hd was facing downwards or should it be facing upwards?
