I've always been a google fan. G1, G2, Nexus 1, gal nexus, etc.

I've always wondered how customizable and hackable the win phone OS is.

Can you root(admin)? are there custom roms?

I could search on XDA but I'm interesting in AT opinions.

It's like iOS but without the ability to jailbreak.
No root or custom ROMs, as far as I know.

WP is locked down pretty well. You won't find a bigger fan of it than me, but if you like rooting, ROMing, and heavily customizing with launchers and such, keep Android. Windows Phone isn't like its predecessor, Windows Mobile, which pretty much ushered in the mobile rooting/ROMing scene long before Android came out.

I use both Windows Phone and Android on a daily basis.

Windows Phone has been hacked on select devices if I recall (do not quote me on this) but it has gone relatively nowhere for the people that want to do custom apps rather use android or jailbreak iphones.

Once someone makes a Windows Phone with digitizer and Pen, then I'll very seriously consider switching. I'd quite possibly literally kill to be able to use OneNote on a Windows phablet. I can't even imagine why such a thing doesn't already exist other than Microsoft is continuing to display it's incompetence in understanding mobility.
