Hard work paid off...

I'm pretty happy. I've been working at the same job for going on 11 months now. When I started working, I needed a car, so my mom was kind enough to go out and buy me a Blazer, as long as I would pay her at least $200 a month and insurance(I had to pay for half of it, $1,500) . Insurance is HELL for a male who is single, and is a minor... I'm glad to say, that I have officially paid off my car, have the insurance paid for the next two months, and I am now getting to the point where I can save money!!!
It's starting to burn a hole in my pocket. I've been looking at various digital camcorders, but I think I am going to try to be smart, and stick as much as I can into a roth IRA... I just thought I'd like to post my antirant...

BTW I'm only 18, so I've already heard, "Well Whippersnapper, I've been working for umpteen years, and I will continue to do so 'till the end of time..." from all the OLD people I know (30+years old) ;)

I'm glad you defined old because I'm 27, very close to becoming a fossil.

hahaha, I kid around with the people I work with (mostly 30-40).. I tell them that old is 30+ and 60+ is geriatric... They know I'm just joking though, they giv me a hard time for being a kid...

I cought this woman using 'groovy' the other day. I thought that was damn funny.... I just looked at her and said "i dig it"

HM! That's a surprise to me.. Judging by your posts I've read, I had always thought you were quite a bit older than that!

Who is your Daddy and what does he do?
I'm a cop you idiot!
where do you work and what do you do there?
I work as a Technology Intern for the County Office of Education. We have a small department, the ERS (Educational Resource Services) that does random things for schools. We have a computer lab they can take advantage of, a library where they can check out books, and an A/V (audio/visual) shop where we repair things school's send in. Mostly I fix PC's and Mac's that come in. Everynow and again I get to fix computers for our employees, along with random server problems etc...

Congrats on getting your life in order. Saving money in a Roth IRA sounds like an outstanding plan. Keep it up and you can retire without financial stress.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about retirement, yet... I'm thinking more short-term. I will be moving to the San Diego region soon, and I would like to have a tiny nest egg set aside, I know I will be needing it...
