A year ago this weekend we were brining home our daughter who weighed in at 5 pounds soaking wet and born 5 weeks before she was due.

This past week we celebrated her 1 year birthday. She's now a fiesty 24 pounds of drooling, babbling, energy.

🙂

I can barely remember the delivery and the first few months home with her. Since having her my life has been a blur. I always thought people were joking that if you blinked you miss them grow up. But it's true.

My mom has empty-nester syndrome. I'm the youngest and I started college in Fall. She talks about my brother and I more than ever now.

I am the oldest of 2 (14 year old sister) and the other day my mom freaked out when I brought up that i wasnt planing on moving back in with her after i get out of college...

Most lifers on here have spent more then her entire life on ATOT.

Think about that.

I think I started posting in the BB days in '97 or so. That's 12 years. That's almost older some AT members.

😱

Much more so when your working two full time jobs as i was with our first kid. I practically missed the first two years of her growing up. Now i just have pt job on the side, and have been watching our second grow up (she turned one in september) and it's been amazing.

cute kiddo

24 lbs? Wow, our daughter (2 years, 4 months) weighs that much...I guess she really is a peanut! The time does fly, enjoy it while you can.

My first is on the way in June.

The wife and I were at Babies R Us this weekend doing baby registry stuff and it was really hitting me hard that "holy shit I'm about to be a dad!!!!OMGGOMGOMGOMG!!!!"

Kind of a mini freak out moment I think.

Whew.

But I think when the time comes I"ll be so busy and consumed with the day to day that it'll fly right by.

One of my nephews and his wife has an 8 month old baby girl. They came to visit at Christmas from 11 hours away. Until they brought her over I wasnt necessarily crazy about babies with all the crying and poopy diapers. But she was the cutest thing ever and when they left, I missed her. 🙁

Anyway, cute baby! 🙂

My son (17 in 2 days) keeps mentioning joining AT... But he has a girlfriend and is training for triathlon so he's been too busy to do it. hehe

Actually she just had her 1 year checkup today. She's a little under 22 pounds. We were having troubles weighing her on the scale at home. That's still not too bad considering she was under 5 pounds at birth. She's 50th percentile in both height and weight. She's had horrible reflux since birth that made eating a major issue, so we're glad she's as much as she is. Only in the last few weeks has she really started eating well.

She's gorgeous. Don't make the same mistake I made. Fight for your right to be more mother like. Seriously . I know how that might sound. But I mean only good. Know her nature and feed it. Now that I am grand pa . I see my error.

our twins hit 7 months a few days ago. At 6mo. they were 18 & 16lbs. It's such a line to say they grow so fast but it's so true.

Every third week my wife does 4-5 days in a row (Thu-Monday) of second shifts. So on those days I am the sole provider for 5-8 hours. I actually spend more time with her one-on-one than my wife does.
