Oh yeah, Ati has screwed up but so has many other companies and have survived and somehow I don't see ATI going anywhere with all their other divisions running (XBOX 360), (tunercards and chips, low end graphics cards etc.)

I still have enjoyed my 7800GTX at 521core and 1404mem. I like watercooling. MMMM watercooling. And for all you resolution flamers and trolls out there (just take a gander at some of the troll/flame fests in video over fricking resolution) I do indeed have a Dell 2405fpw for my 7800:roll:

Thats what many folks who mainly use nvidia cards have said actually I wouldn't have noticed it unless i'd just come from using my 9800 pro...the difference is night and day as to how the shadows look between tho two, but unless you'd seen it looking different recently there's no reason for anyone to notice anything's amiss i guess...

Actually, the Voodoo5 wasn't exactly that fast of a card. Other than its killer Glide performance (if you played such games, Tribes and Unreal Tournament come to mind), it did have a pretty solid introduction/implimentation of AA, however the Voodoo 5 5500 simply couldn't keep up with the GeForce 2 GTS let alone the Ultra (of which the quadzilla V5 6000 would have challenged but was cancelled as we all know)

It'd be a different story if today ATI had to release such lazy and hacked products to compete. It took nVidia and SLI to gain a clear lead, as with single cards its pretty much a toss up.

Imagine if the Voodoo 4 (A Voodoo 5 with only one chip) could have actually challenged a GeForce 2 GTS. Then the Voodoo 5 would have been quite the beast and I seriously doubt 3Dfx would have been down the tubes. nVidia was hitting homers when 3Dfx was hitting singles, they couldn't win the ball game no matter how good or bad their management was, they simply didn't have the sluggers.

The message is definately right on but it's delivered in a very tactless manner. I would expect a bit more professionalism from someone who runs a respectable website. His use of "Canucks" in a derogatory fashion is in particular bad taste.

Is "Canucks" derogatory? I've always thought of it as more good natured than a slur, but I'm unfamiliar with it's origin.

Everyone knows that ATI has had big problems this year and made some major mistakes. But to kick someone when they're down like this just seems uncalled for. Maybe someone didn't get their R520 review cards from ATI?

That doesn't mean he can't voice his dissatisfaction over being part of Crossfire's second paper launch. When you have a site, you can opt not to mind.

Well Reever comment was a bit harsh on Rollo; I did that once to him by calling names and stuff, unprofessional behaviour of course. But I still believe that his agenda is very clear to the video card community keys.
